What is currently on your mind?

*My rent

What would a standard day in your life entail?

*coffee, emails, fashion, food, friends, family


What do you most dislike about contemporary life?

*The need for instant gratification

What do you most enjoy about the age that we live in?

*Instant gratification


Out of interest, how would you describe your personal style, as in what you wear day to day?

*I like to keep myself comfortable and understated; I don’t think you should over do it on a day-to-day basis


On reflection, do you find your personal style consciously or subconsciously affects the aesthetic you create?

* Consciously… your personal style becomes an ingredient to what you create. I find that most stylists look like a version of what they create


How would you describe your role as a fashion stylist?

*My role and ultimate goal as a stylist is to make things look cool. To create a mood and an image with clothes that people would like to buy or look at

When was your first foray into fashion styling?

*My teen years.... you should see the pictures

Would you say you have a signature style and if so how do you maintain this when the industry aesthetic changes so often?

* I can see my voice yes… I actually try to incorporate a few techniques in all of my shoots as my stamp

I think it’s important to have your own sensibility in your work but I also think it should have room to grow

I don’t want my work to be one note. Fashion is always about the new and fresh. It’s always nice to be pleasantly surprised

How do you unlock your creativity, what inspires your work?

*I don’t force creativity, I let it just flow organically. I do find that most of my ideas grow at the gym or from just walking around the city

Do you have a favorite designer in relation to how often you incorporate their work into your styling?

*I don’t have a favorite. I do think that some collections outshine others season to season and so those might be the ones I gravitate toward

To date have you had one stand out shoot that instantly springs to mind as your favorite/most successful?

*I love them all but shooting Sean o’pry was a highlight


Your Elle Men Mexico cover story shoot starring Simon Nessman was full of staple denim looks. Do you feel a stylist is able to influence trends?

*I think stylist make trends visible. They filter through the collections onto the runway, into magazines and stores

The ‘Wall Street Journal’ is full of classical tailored looks, whereas your ‘Zeug Mode’ shoot with Nicolas Wagner is teeming with playful, progressive
styling. Do you have a particular preference for the formal or the playful?

*depends on the mood, it can be just as fun putting a suit on as it is taking it off

The best advice you’ve ever been given?

*Always be true to yourself in every shape and form

What would you like to be doing in five years?

*A more glorified version of what I’m doing now

If you were to trade places with one person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional, who would it be and why?

*Superman- who doesn’t want to fly, have a six pack, and be a hero

What is the theme tune of your life?

*There are many tunes in my life just depends what theme I find myself in.

*Water and items that mean something to me

If someone were to write your biography, what would you think the title should be....
